Rotor — Tees
Aerial Photos by 1888 Tee
Long before drones, cameras flew on kites.
What you're wearing
In May 1888 Arthur Batut was taking aerial photographs from a kite over Labruguière, France. Here a silk kite painted with a drone lifts an 1880s box camera. Drawn in the manner of a painted silk kite: dye washes that bleed into the weave, loaded-brush lines, and the bamboo spars showing through the silk. The white silk is the shirt. Front print. Unisex fit, 100% cotton.
