A strain wave gear, also called a harmonic drive, is a compact gear used in many robot joints.
What you're wearing
An oval wave generator flexes a thin toothed cup inside a rigid ring with two more teeth than the cup. With 202 teeth on the ring and 200 on the cup, the input turns 100 times for every 1 turn out, and the output turns the other way. Drawn in the manner of a CNC toolpath preview, with clearing spirals and red dashed rapid moves. Full-bleed XL desk mat, 16 x 32 in.
