Writing Since the 1770s Desk Mat

$32.49

The Writer is a child-sized automaton built by Pierre Jaquet-Droz in the 1770s.

He dips a goose quill and writes with it, a wheel in his back can be set to write any text up to 40 letters long, and he still works today in the Museum of Art and History in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Drawn in the manner of a red and black chalk study. Full-bleed XL desk mat, 16 x 32 in.

Made to order — pressed and shipped in the US.
