A Scrap of the Flyer Desk Mat
On April 19, 2021, the Ingenuity helicopter made the first powered, controlled flight on another planet.
What you're wearing
Under its solar panel it carried a small swatch of wing fabric from the Wright brothers' 1903 Flyer (NASA/JPL). Drawn in the manner of felt appliqué, shapes cut from felt and cotton and blanket-stitched down. It is a print, not fabric, so the mat stays smooth. Full-bleed XL desk mat, 16 x 32 in.
